Discussion over Qur'ran and Hadeeth is a dangerous ground, we better not go in details.
I am also not big fan of ahadeeth, cos many ahadeeth apparently clashes with Qur'an. Another reason is Qur'an is GOD's word and ahadeeth are man's words (reported through a long chain of narrators)
But its also a fact that many of the DOs and DONT's mentioned in Qur'an are explained in ahadeeth and through Prophet's Sunnah. The biggest example is Namaz (Salat). Qur'an commands muslim to establish Salat but does not tell the procedure (Qayam, Ruku, Sajda, Qaada, Salamz) etc., The Prophet explained this and taught us and this all was reported through Ahadeeth.
Qur'ran established major rules and draws a wider boundary for everything, whereas ahadeeth goes in deep and explains details. Another example is form of government. Should it be democracy? or Dictatorship ? or a group (majlis shoora / cabinet). In the beginning, it was kind of democracy (some wise-men picked up a person as caliph) later it turned more into dictatorship and then a complete imperialism.
The reason behind compilation of ahadeeth after some 250-300 years is, they only felt then the need of ahadeeth / sunnah. In early days people were very much aware of and eye-witness of what prophet and his close sahabas were doing in life. Plus when problems and variations started to arise in Muslim Society especially outside of Arab, only then they felt to record and follow the sunnah of prophet and his sayings about many other things.
So in my humble opinion, we should consider ahadeeth too but SHOULD NOT give priorities to ahadeeth over Qur'ran.
Just some thoughts
How are your X-Mass and New Year vacations goingon? happy/busy i hope/guess?

I wonder that Allah knew what people did with the other books and they changed the way we they wanted the religion to be .......then he decides that ok I am gona send the lats Prophet and last Book Qu ran which will be protected by me and nobody will be able to change that, then Mohammed Came and brought that book and yet we say it is not in Quran but it is in hadis , don't you think Allah new better, and Hadis is not even written by Muhammad or his 4 best friends ,now we should only be looking at Quran , but still we create lots of believe that are not in Quran but are part of hadis and all Muslims have different saying about these believes ................how could we believe that Allah will leave any thing left out in Quran if he want us to believe on that, just a thought ?

i) The English name of the Novel is The Omen (as its movie was)
ii) I tried to find but I think Dajjal is not mentioned in Qur'ran
iii) Although its not in Qur'ran but its mentioned in Ahadeeth and well before Islam in other major religions (Antichrist and Armilus in Christian and Jewish eschatology, respectively). Moreover, our prophet (SAW) told muslims about 30 Dajjals (liars) before the dooms day. Plus Dajjal is not a name but a quality / property (liar). Thats why in Islam, its not Dajjal but Maseeh-ud-Dajjal (The Fake Christ). Their names can be different For instance Damien {semicolon})
I tried to dig out some information about Dajjal and was shocked to find out that one sahabi-e-rasool was fulfilling some of the qualities of Dajjal (he was the first child, born after 30 years of his parents marriage, and one-eyed). Many Sahaba-e-karaam thought he was Dajjal but later he embraced Islam (so he could not be a dajjal).

I think the basic theme of the novel is very much related to our Religion and current scenario. The original writer and Mr. Haqqani both have added some twist of fiction in the novel to make it more interesting, horror and to match with the thinkings and believes of the local people.
Not only this novel but all stories on Jin Bhoot Churail Bairs Muakkals Hamzaad Devi Devta are only fiction and we should read them as entertainment and not a religious doctrine, like many people do in the case of another Novel of Mr. Haqqi (Doosri Fasal) or will do on this novel.

Actually original novel or most importantly movie (on which novel is based) does not feature photographer as a Muslim, instead he was christian as well. In order to relate this novel to our culture and religion; Mr Haqqani has changed lot of things like photographer as being muslim, talking things against jews and most importantly depicting Islam as a true religion which was not a part of original novel.
But one thing that confuses me a lot is that if we look into this novel according to our religion than this fiction would have never existed. So then why Mr haqqani is trying to justify this novel according to islamic teachings?

I thought may be a USA based kitaab ghar reader might have read the original novel and could share the original reference. Another option for cross reference is The Omen Series Movies... I have arranged all 5 parts, let's see when will I have enough time to watch them
Muslims do believe in Dajjal as firm as the day of judgement cos Ahadeeth narrating Dajjal are multiple. One is quoted here (taken from http://www.sahihalbukhari.com/sps/sbk/)
Hadeeth No. 6672
The Prophet said, "No prophet was sent but that he warned his followers against the one-eyed liar (Ad-Dajjal). Beware! He is blind in one eye, and your Lord is not so, and there will be written between his (Ad-Dajjal's) eyes (the word) Kafir (i.e., disbeliever)." (This Hadith is also quoted by Abu Huraira and Ibn 'Abbas).
The explanation of He is blind in one eye, and your Lord is not so is, cos he will claim that I am your Lord (Allah).

Good Novel so far and very interesting thing is, Just a night before this novel was posted on Kitab Ghar I was talking about Dajal with my friends and next morning I open my computer and see this “Novel “scary Right …………..and about your Question Mun’am I have never read the original so I am not help full at all but yes I would love to read the original thoughts of the writer …….
Does Muslim believe Dajal will come? is he for real ....
Interesting Novel hay. Pahlay bhi paRha tha, dobara parh ke achha laga. Aik baat samajh me nahi aati keh is novel me Jews ke khilaaf likha gaya hay. Or Muslim version ki bhi kaafi achhi tarah wazahat ki gaie hay (Mr. Hanif ki zuban se) Tou kia yeh Mr. David Seltzer ne original novel me likha tha ya Mr. Haqqi ne tarjume ke waqt add kia?
Anyone will clear it please?
