Saat (7) Qadeem Ishq is a book by Shahida Latif based on legends and anecdotes of historical love tales from Islamic world of Middle East and Africa. The book comprises love tales and personality sketches of various legendary figures from ancient times, whose stories are taken more as reality wrapped in myth. Shahida has drawn from historical background of the popular love tales of Bint-e-Utba, Shehzadi Armanus, Umme Salma, Malika Khizran, Shehzadi Philippine, Malkuti and Sultana Begum.
Shahida Latif has published four poetry books so far. Shahida also enjoys writing on varied and serious topics. She wrote a book on the history of Pakistan from the perspective of Army. The book is ‘Pakistan Mein Fauj Ka Kirdar’ (Role of Army in Pakistan). This book is a huge effort on her part.
Apart from her four poetic collections, her other publications include 'Islam, Amrica aur Aalmi Aman’ (Islam, America and World Peace); ‘Mein Pakistani Hoon’ (I am Pakistani); ‘Baraf ki Shahzadi’ (The Snow Princess); ‘Marka-i-Kashmir’ (Kashmir Expedition); ‘Mojza’ (The Miracle); ‘Hikayat ka Encyclopaedia’ (Encyclopaedia of Quotations) and ‘Pakistan Mein Fauj Ka Kirdar’ (Role of Army in Pakistan).
Shahida Latif graduated from Sir Syed Girls College and took her Masters degree in Philosophy from Karachi University. She is a journalist, thinker, researcher, a literary figure and a patriotic poetess. Her aim in life is to promote Pakistani culture. She has been publishing an international monthly magazine for the last ten years. She is author of many books of poetry, history and fiction.
